Aloha family, friends and visitors!

Our travel day to the Big Island of Hawaii was an adventurous one. From severe weather in Memphis, to a 6 hour layover in Los Angeles then arriving 30 minutes early to Kona, it was an experience we will not soon forget.

We also learned a lot from this day.

There is no such thing as packing light for a 7 day vacation.

$6.00 per day to park in long term beats gas to and from for someone to drive us.

There is no way to get comfortable sitting three wide in coach for a 4 hour flight.

Flying coach for 4 hours leads to seat upgrades to first class for the 5 1/2 flight to the island.

Flying first class for the first time leads to the revelation that we need to upgrade our tickets for the return flight today.

Mai-Tai's during pre-flight calms the nervous flyer!

Airline food has come a long way!

It sure beats the last time I flew and had the fish!

We cannot sleep on planes...

When you cannot sleep on planes, you take pictures of the world below.

Kailua-Kona International Airport is entirely outdoors. Baggage claim, ticketing, terminals. Beautiful!

Thank you for stopping by to read about our adventure! We will post more as we can. Today, we head into the deep blue sea for a catamaran snorkeling cruise and BBQ, Hawaiian style!

The adventure begins!

We have embarked on what is sure to be a once in a lifetime experience.

After 6 months of planning, 3 days of packing and now, with less than 24 hours remaining on the mainland, we are in Southaven Mississippi (just East of Memphis) in monsoon like conditions eagerly awaiting our 8:30 AM flight to Los Angeles where we will enjoy a magnificent view of the LAX terminal for the next 6 hours!

I know, I know... What do we have to complain about? In reality, Nothing. I have never been happier in my life and I could not imagine a better place to be with my best friend, soul-mate and soon to be wife.

It does not matter if everything goes as planned, if it rains every day we are there, or the volcanoes decide to revolt against us even getting off the plane. It will be perfect.

While we will post some pictures and updates on facebook, we invite you all to follow this blog for all those little moments that catch us by surprise. Maybe this way it will give everyone a chance to take part in our celebration!

We want to thank everyone for their love and support! we would not be the people we are today without you all!
